On the marks of Gustav Mahler we reach Altschluderbach/Carbonin Vecchia, where the summer residence and the small house of musical creation are located. In the summer months of 1908-1910, Gustav Mahler composed some of his most famous works in this simple wooden hut in the heart of the Dolomites: the 9th and 10th symphonies and the "Song of the Earth".
The summer residence and the small house of musical creation are only visible from the outside.
The circuit starts at the Grand Hotel in Neutoblach/Dobbiaco Nuova. From there, trail no. 27 leads to the district of Rienza/Rienz. The trail continues uphill the first part of the ski lift, than straight ahead in the middle of the wood to Altschluderbach/Carbonin Vecchia, where the summer residence and the small house of musical creation are located. Trail no. 27A, which is also the paveled cycle road, leads back to the starting point.
Accessible by public transport. The timetables are available on www.sii.bz.it.
