Tobogganing: rules of conduct & safety tips

To ensure everyone can enjoy their adventure safely, following the rules of conduct and adhering to the guidance, instructions and regulations set by 3 Zinnen AG and the on-site personnel is essential. Please take note of the following important rules and safety requirements:

  • Be considerate of others: Responsible behaviour ensures that no one gets hurt.
  • Parental supervision: Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult on the toboggan.
  • Adapt your riding style: Speed and riding technique must match your own ability and the condition of the toboggan run (snow, ice, weather). NB: Potholes and icy patches may occur along the track – ride with caution!
  • Keep your distance: Maintain a safety distance of at least 8 metres from the person in front of you.
  • Respect slower riders: Faster riders must not endanger those moving more slowly.
  • Observe information signs: Pay close attention to signs and markings, especially where the toboggan run crosses hiking trails or ski runs.
  • Overtaking: Only overtake in clearly visible areas, keeping a safe distance and moderate speed.
  • Stopping correctly: Only stop in clearly visible areas! In the event of a fall, vacate narrow sections of the toboggan run as quickly as possible.
  • Stay on the track: Tobogganing on ski runs is strictly prohibited.
  • Correct position: Never ride headfirst (skeleton style) on the toboggan!
  • Tobogganing in the dark: For night runs (only during official operating hours), extra caution is required. A headlamp is mandatory.
  • Uphill walking with a toboggan: Use designated uphill lanes or hiking paths for pulling your toboggan uphill.
  • In case of an accident: Hold onto the toboggan by its strap, secure the accident site and help the injured person.
  • Equipment: Suitable, sturdy footwear (no ski boots) with good tread (or spikes) is essential for safety.
  • Safety first: Helmets are mandatory for children up to the age of 18. Helmets are strongly recommended for adults.
