Your free ticket for public transport

Südtirol Guest Pass

Travel for free all across South Tyrol – thanks to selected regional partners! All accommodation providers that are members of the local tourism association cover the cost of public transport for their guests. This means that during your stay, you can use the local buses and trains as often as you like, completely free of charge. Simply download the digital Südtirol Guest Pass, which you receive via email from your accommodation, and you’re ready to go!

Which routes are covered by the ticket?

With the Südtirol Guest Pass, you can use all public transport of the South Tyrolean Transport Association. This includes:

  • local and city buses
  • regional trains
  • provincial cable cars to Ritten, Kohlern, Mölten, Vöran and Meransen
  • Renon railway
  • Mendola funicular
  • rail line 400 to Vierschach
  • SAD bus line 445 to Cortina d’Ampezzo

Winter sports fans will be pleased to know that the use of ski buses is also included.

Which modes of transport are not included?

Long-distance trains (Intercity, Eurocity, Euronight, Eurostar) and the following tourist shuttle services in summer are excluded:

  • shuttle service 439: Welsberg – Lake Prags
  • bus line 442: Toblach  – Niederndorf – Prags, during peak season
  • shuttle service 444: Toblach – Three Peaks / Auronzo hut

Please note that separate tickets must be purchased to transport bicycles, dogs and other animals. Exceptions apply to guide dogs and small animals carried in your arms or a cage (maximum dimensions 70 x 30 x 50 cm). Medium-sized and large dogs require a single ticket or the Junior Mobilcard. Muzzles are mandatory.

Terms of use for the Südtirol Guest Pass

  • You will receive the Südtirol Guest Pass from your accommodation by email, both as an electronic version and as a PDF.
  • Alternatively, you can request a printed copy upon arrival at your accommodation.
  • At the start of each journey, scan the QR code on your Südtirol Guest Pass using the designated ticket machine. A beep and an “OK” on the display confirm successful validation. Important: For train journeys, please validate your pass before boarding!
  • The ticket is valid for the entire duration of your stay – specifically, from 00:00 on the day of arrival until 23:59 on the day of departure.
  • Do you need the ticket for your journey to South Tyrol? Please contact your accommodation directly to request a pre-check-in!
  • The ticket is non-transferable and cannot be combined with other offers.
    Children under the age of six do not require a Südtirol Guest Pass.

FAQ for the Südtirol Guest Pass

Can the Südtirol Guest Pass be used for my journey to the holiday resort and back home?

Yes, the Südtirol Guest Pass can be used for both arrival and departure. However, it depends on the means of transport: All public buses and regional trains operated by südtirolmobil are included. Long-distance trains such as Railjet and Eurocity are excluded.

Which means of public transport are not included in the Südtirol Guest Pass?

The Südtirol Guest Pass does not cover special services such as the Nightliner or long-distance trains (e.g., Railjet, Intercity, Eurocity, Frecciarossa, Italo). It is also not valid on certain alpine routes in summer, such as lines 439, 442 and 444.

How do I validate the Südtirol Guest Pass?

You must validate the Südtirol Guest Pass at the start of each journey – for train journeys, please do so before boarding. Simply scan the QR code at one of the blue ticket machines. A display reading “OK” and an audible signal confirm successful validation.
