The Dolomites High Trail no. 5, also known as the Tiziano High Trail, is a challenge for experienced mountaineers with stamina and climbing skills.
The trail starts in Sesto, in the Three Peaks Dolomites region in Alta Pusteria, and ends in Pieve di Cadore.
The route runs for about 90 kilometres, divided into 7 stages and can be divided into three different parts corresponding to the Dolomite groups crossed: first part, Croda dei Tòni and Popèra; second part, Marmaròle; third part, the Antelao.
Most of the huts are open from the beginning of July to the end of September.
It is advisable to book your accommodation well in advance.
The recommended time of year for this hike is from the end of June to the end of September
The high-altitude trail is marked with red-white-red markings.
Finish: Pieve di Cadore (878 m)
Description: Walking this Alpine ridgeway is a challenging task and therefore only advisable for hikers who are experienced, sure-footed and, above all, fit. From the scenery point of view, this trail does not have such open views as trail no. 4, for example. However, it does pass through some areas that are particularly remote such as the Sexten Dolomites, which is one of the scenic highlights of the hike.
