Stiergarten: an alpine paradise in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites region
Together with Monte Elmo, Croda Rossa and Monte Baranci, the Stiergarten makes up the four famous excursion mountains of the 3 Zinnen Dolomites cable cars. As the name suggests (“Stiergarten” translates to “bull’s garden”), this was where, in the past, the region’s bulls spent their summer retreat.
Today, it’s no longer the animals who enjoy the peace and beauty of this alpine haven but nature lovers, sports enthusiasts and relaxation-seekers. Whether you visit the mountain for hiking, cycling or simply to take in the views: The lush landscapes and serene atmosphere make Stiergarten the perfect setting for unforgettable summer days.

Hiking across alpine meadows at Stiergarten
All it takes is a ride on the Drei Zinnen cable car from Signaue up to Stiergarten, and you will find yourself in a true hiker’s paradise. At the mountain station, around 2,000 metres above sea level, the stunning natural scenery gives you a taste of the adventure ahead. The lush green alpine meadows, the gentle chime of cowbells and the spectacular view of the Three Peaks – all of it builds the excitement for the hike to come.
Stiergarten offers a variety of spacious hiking trails, many of them ideal for children and families. One of the most popular routes is the Sexten Mountain Pastures Trail. This easy, pushchair-friendly high-altitude trail winds past blooming meadows and welcoming huts, always accompanied by magnificent Dolomite views.

Mountain adventures for cycling aficionados
The beautiful Stiergarten is not just a favourite with hikers – it is also a top tip for cyclists, with plenty of mountain bike trails winding their way through the gentle high-altitude landscape.
