The realm of Gigante Baranci in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites region

Hop on the chairlift and set off for a day filled with adventure and joy! Because that’s what a family outing to the realm of Gigante Baranci is all about. From the heart of Innichen, you and your children can enjoy a comfortable ride up the mountain, arriving at a land where a “giant” adventure awaits.

At the top, you’ll be welcomed into the magical realm of Gigante Baranci. Hike along a scenic, family-friendly loop with ten interactive stations that invite you to explore nature through the eyes of a giant.

You’ll learn all about the legend of the mighty mountain giant, Baranci, who once aided the townspeople of Innichen in constructing their grand cathedral – now the famous Innichen Collegiate Church. In exchange for his assistance, he asked for a daily feast: a barrel of wine, a roasted calf and a bag of potatoes.

Speaking of feasting: When it’s time to recharge, you can stop by the Rifugio Gigante Baranci hut for a delicious meal. And if you’re visiting on a Friday during summer, the little ones are in for a special treat with a fun-filled children’s party!

Be sure to also visit nearby highlights like the shimmering footprint lakes and the charming Little Wood Village. And for a thrilling finale to your day: Skip the chairlift and take the Funbob instead – South Tyrol’s longest summer toboggan run. It takes you on a fun ride back to the valley, and it’s the perfect way to end your family adventure!
