There is a large car park to the right of the cable car valley station Rotwand. Behind it lies the Hotel Mühlenhof, where a bridge crosses the stream. After crossing the bridge, you will find the start of cross-country ski trail 17b. The trail initially runs alongside the stream towards Fischleintalboden, then climbs slightly and leads into a wooded area. After reaching the Fischleintalboden car park, the trail circles around it with another slight incline. Shortly afterwards, you reach the Bistro Bergsteiger, directly behind the Fischleintalbodenhütte. This is where the circular trail in the Fischleintal valley begins, at the entrance to the valley.
