Around the lake, there is a nature experience trail with 11 stations that provide valuable information about the area's flora, fauna, and geomorphology, and especially explains the special features of Toblach Lake. The viewing platform on the western shore offers a place to rest as well as views of the animal and plant life and the siltation zone. The hike starts at the Toblach Tourism Association and leads onto the sidewalk heading south. Immediately after the railway crossing, the hike first turns right and after about 100 meters turns left. The paved road continues straight ahead to the cross-country skiing stadium and, passing it on the right, continues to the village of Säge. There the gravel path begins, which leads straight to Toblach Lake.
On the west side of the lake begins the nature trail that goes around Toblach Lake.
The return to the tourist office follows the same route as the outward journey.
