This via ferrata leads once around South Tyrol's landmark starting from Drei Zinnen Hütte. Starting point: Drei Zinnen Hütte
This via ferrata is only recommended for experienced climbers with via ferrata experience, surefootedness, a head for heights, and endurance.
From the Drei Zinnen Hütte a well-trodden path leads towards "Frankfurter Würstel" and past it to the tunnel entrance. At the end of the tunnel, there is a cable-protected section up to the Gamsscharte. From there, steeply right upwards to the summit. Concentrate while climbing in the scree summit area – there are many partly confusing exit options. After the summit, return to the Gamsscharte, then a few meters down through a scree gully and then over the Kriegssteig trail to the Paternsattel.
Especially due to the impressive tunnel passages, numerous rock breaches, and an interesting crawling section shortly before the Paternsattel, this via ferrata is very exciting and highly recommended because of its central location in the Sexten Dolomites and the summit panorama.
