This pleasant circular hike starts in Niederdorf and initially leads you along the peaceful Rienz – accompanied by the gentle murmur of the water and the tranquil atmosphere of the valley floor. At Neunhäusern, a gentle ascent begins through meadows and small woods up to Aufkirchen, a charming hamlet with traditional farms and wide views of the Dolomites.
From there, a slightly descending road leads towards Toblach. The landscape opens up, offering you wonderful views of the Hochpustertal again and again. After a short detour into Toblach’s town area, the return route leads leisurely and without major inclines back to Niederdorf on an asphalt road.
