This trail runs from Waldheim across open meadows and along the edge of the forest to Mühlenhof, offering a varied transition towards the Fischleintal valley.

Directions
The trail begins behind Hotel Willy at the Herz-Maria Chapel. From there, it runs across open meadows just below the tree line towards Moos. After passing the Sexten sports centre with its climbing hall, swimming pool and tennis courts, the trail follows the winter hiking trail, crosses it and then continues parallel to it. After passing a stable, the trail runs along the stream, crosses the hiking trail again and finally follows a forest path to the Hotel Mühlenhof. From there, it connects to trail no. 17b towards Fischleintalboden.

How to get there
Coming from the Pustertal valley, turn off into the Sextnertal valley at Innichen. Coming from the Kreuzberg Pass, follow the main road to Sexten. Start at the Haus der Berge, Via Dolomiti 45A.
From there, walk a short distance and you will reach the start of the trail after about 5 minutes.
