Safety guidelines
ATTENTION: Construction work is currently taking place on the path no. 101 in the section from Rif. Pian di Cengia to Rif. Locatelli. It is therefore recommended to bypass this section. This can be done via hiking trail no. 104 in the direction of Rif. Lavaredo or via the via ferrata to Monte Paterno.
Directions
Englisch: The tour begins at the parking lot at the Dolomitenhof (1,454 m), accessible by bus, car (parking fee applies) or in about 45 minutes on foot from Sexten; from there, a leisurely path leads to the Talschlusshütte (1,548 m), where you turn right onto trails No. 102/103 into the Altensteintal valley and climb briefly to a junction. Turn left onto trail No. 103 and continue uphill above the Bacherntal valley to the Zsigmondyhütte (2,235 m) – one of the most beautiful viewpoints overlooking the Elferstock and the striking Zwölfer; from the hut, the marked high trail No. 101 leads westwards over stony, partly rocky terrain with a slight incline to the Oberbachernjoch, where keeping right leads quickly to the Büllelejochhütte (2,528 m) – the highest point of the tour.Tip: A short detour (approx. 30 minutes) to the summit cross of the Oberbachernspitze is well worth it – fantastic panoramic views included! From the Büllelejoch (2,522 m), the path leads steeply downhill across a scree field on the northern side, followed by a beautiful, almost level hiking section with an unobstructed view of the Dreischusterspitze, leading to the impressive Dreizinnenhütte (2,405 m) at the Toblinger Riedl; here, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the Three Peaks – a must for all Dolomite lovers. The descent follows trail No. 102 in a northeasterly direction across the Bödenalm with its two idyllic lakes, then through the Altensteintal valley, dominated by the massive Einserkofel, back to the Talschlusshütte and finally to the parking lot at the Dolomitenhof.
