The hike is particularly special because it combines history and the special experience of snowshoe hikes.

The snowshoe tour leads to Monte Piano, which is located in the Drei Zinnen/Tre Cime nature park.
During the First World War Austrians and Italians fought against each other at Monte Piano (2324 m). The North summit was occupied by the Austrians, the Southern main summit by the Italians.

IMPORTANT: Before starting any ski tour/snowshoe excursion, you must check the weather conditions and danger avalanches report (https://avalanche.report), asking also experts (alpine guides etc.).

Directions

The medium-difficulty snowshoe hike leads from Misurina on path no. 122 initially in the forest and later between pine slopes to the Bosi hut. The tour continues next to the hut without difficulty up to the high plateau of the Monte Piano.

It exist the possibility to run up to the Bosi hut with the snowmobile and start from there the snowshoe hike.
