This varied winter hike steadily ascends from Moos over meadows and forests to the Klammbach Alm, with the option to shorten the tour using the cable car.
- Wide, groomed forest roads that are easy to walk even in snow
- Diverse landscapes: open meadows, dense forests, and wide views
- Wonderful panoramas, including views of the Sexten Sundial and the surrounding mountain peaks
- Linear route
The starting point of this winter hike is the church in Moos. From here, cross the road and follow the sidewalk downhill to the Schäfer department store. A gently ascending road branches off to the right towards the Berghotel. Follow this road, cross a bridge, and pass the signposted hotel. The path steadily ascends to an intersection, where you follow trail No. 139 towards Gasthof Froneben. Continue uphill along the paved road with curves, passing the "Brugger" drag lift. After about 400 meters, take the right turn to Gasthof Froneben (1,549 m). Behind the guesthouse, follow hiking trail 139 towards Klammbachalm. First, walk over wide meadows with views of the Sexten Sundial, then cross the ski slope and continue through the forest. You will cross trail No. 13 and follow it uphill in several curves. After about 1.5 km, you reach the junction "Saumahd" (1,828 m) and change to trail No. 133 towards Klammbachalm. On a wide, gently ascending forest road through the woods, continue for another 1.5 km until the landscape opens up and you reach Klammbachalm (1,944 m).
The return journey is on the same path towards Moos or can be shortened: walk about 1.2 km towards Stiergarten (2,092 m) and take the "Drei Zinnen" cable car from there to the valley station "Signaue." From there, public transport will take you back to Moos.
Coming from the Puster Valley, turn into the Sexten Valley at Innichen. Coming from the Kreuzberg Pass, follow the main road to Moos. Start anywhere in the center of Moos.
