Winter hike with (buggy): Sexten church – Gasthof Panorama

The starting point for the hike is the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Sexten ( 1,310 m), which is located in the centre of the village.
From there, follow the road that runs directly past the church – the Kirchweg – towards Waldruhe. Stay on this asphalt road, which leads steadily uphill in several bends. After a short time, a beautiful view of the village of Sexten, the church and, above all, the striking Sexten sundial opens up.

After a few minutes' walk and a few metres of altitude gain, you reach a crossroads. Here, take the road on the right, following the signs towards Mitterberg / Gasthof Panorama. Further along the way, you pass under the Helmjet Sexten cable car. After a few more minutes of walking, you will arrive at Gasthof Panorama (1,576 m).

From there, you can either take the same route back to Sexten or continue the hike in different directions – for example, to the Helmhanghütte Hut (1,605 m) or the Lärchenhütte Hut (1,850 m).

Coming from the Puster Valley, turn off at Innichen into the Sexten valley. Coming from the Kreuzberg Pass, follow the main road to Sexten.
