The hike is culturally very appealing and interesting as it gives insight into the medieval history of the area.

The cultural round tour passes at all famous churches and chapels at Dobbiaco/Toblach. The parisch church of St. John the Baptist, the sanctuary of St. Mary, the chapels of Melate/Mellaten, Monte Rota/Ratsberg and Fienili/Stadlern, the church of San Silvestro/Wahlen an the "Leitnstöckl" are visitable.

Directions

The winter walk starts from the center of Toblach/Dobbiaco at the parish Church of St. John the Baptist. From there the path no. 11 goes to Aufkirchen/Santa Maria, where is located the Gothic pilgrimage church. Uphill to Mellaten/Melate, Ratsberg/Monte Rota and Stadlern/Fienili are very beatiful chapels. The path from Mellaten to Ratsberg and on to Stadlern goes in the middle of the snowy wood. The cultural round tour prosegue to the church of Wahlen/San Silvestro, which is devoted to St. Nicolas. Passing the Leitnstöckl, which is one of many so-called "Peststöckel" in the surroundings, which were realised in memory of the plague, the path takes back to the starting point.
