It was here, in fact, that the very first ski lift in the entire Upper Puster Valley was built: the Monte Rota (Ratsberg) Ski Lift, which once carried visitors up to the meadows of Monte Rota and was highly popular in both summer and winter.
Moreover, as early as the 1930s, skis were being manufactured in Dobbiaco that were regarded among the finest in Italy: the renowned Viertler skis.
