Respect the mountain - Drava-source, Dobbiaco

The fountain is located halfway between Dobbiaco and San Candido, at the source of the Drava River.

During its 750 km long journey to the Danube the Drava flows through 5 European countries. It has its beginning in Dobbiaco. There is a miniature replica of its dimensions on the way from the cycle path to the source of the Drava. Every 1 meter of path corresponds to 1.4 km of river. After 15 minutes walkers arrive at the source of the Drava. The "Respect in the Mountains" project aims to raise awareness among visitors and tourists in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, of environmentally friendly behaviour and to create an awareness of the need for a more respectful environment.
