Nordic Arena

The Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco/Toblach is one of the largest sports centers in the Puster Valley and offers numerous options for sports activities and entertainment in both summer and winter. In winter, the cross-country ski trails are groomed in the arena and over the roof of the building. In addition, the Nordic Arena houses a restaurant & bar, restrooms, a cross-country ski school, and cross-country ski rental.

Nordic Arena: The cross-country skiing stadium in Dobbiaco

The Nordic Arena serves as a venue for international World Cup races. But not only professionals enjoy spending time at the Nordic Arena; there are also provisions for children: Toby's Nordic Kids Area offers young cross-country skiing stars a playful introduction to this sport. With child-friendly courses in the cross-country skiing centre in Dobbiaco, kids can enjoy the fun of movement amidst the stunning mountain scenery of the Dolomites.

Whether you are training for ski marathons, want to test your limits on FIS-approved trails, or prefer to glide along illuminated night trails late in the evening, you are guaranteed to find the right route here.

Trail Dobbiaco-Cortina  

The scenic Dobbiaco-Cortina cross-country ski trail runs along the old railway line through the Valley of Landro, is about 30 kilometres long and offers spectacular views of the Dolomites. 

The start of the track is at the Nordic Arena cross-country stadium in Toblach/Dobbiaco. The track goes a little uphill, passing Lake Toblach/Dobbiaco, where you first get a great view of the Dolomites. The route continues to the War Cemetery, then to the View Point of the Three Peaks (Landro) and Lake Landro. A few kilometers later, after Schluderbach, you reach the Gemärk (Cimabanche) pass, the highest point of the route. From there, most of the Dobbiaco-Cortina trail descends to Fiames, a small hamlet near Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Are you a cross-country skiing star?

We have come up with a rewarding challenge for particularly ambitious cross-country skiers: If you complete predefined cross-country ski trails in the Dolomiti NordicSki region, you will receive an award in recognition of your sporting achievement. You will have skied the most beautiful trails in the region and bring home a lasting memory of your winter holiday. For those who would like to complete the specified routes at a certain speed, we recommend completing the Nordic HERO Champ. In addition to the award, participants can win an overnight stay in a hotel in the region.

Cross-country ski events in Dobbiaco

In the heart of the Dolomites, cross-country skiers experience special moments every year. Dobbiaco/Toblach hosts numerous cross-country races and is known nationally and internationally.

The highlights include the Coop FIS Tour de Ski, an annual World Cup cross-country event renowned for its superb hospitality, the FIS PARA World Championship, the Italian Championships, and the 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon.

The „Gran Fondo Dobbiaco-Cortina” also takes place annually. It is one of Italy’s most traditional races and has been held since 1977. After Marcialonga, it is the second-largest popular cross-country race in Italy.

Each of these events combines athletic excellence with a unique alpine backdrop and friendly hospitality.
